Job Description
The Coffee Roaster is responsible for producing high-quality roasted coffee beans by operating and maintaining roasting equipment, ensuring that all coffee is roasted to specific flavor profiles, and adhering to company standards. This role involves understanding the intricacies of coffee roasting, from green bean selection to the final roast, and requires a strong attention to detail and passion for coffee.
Job Requirements
- Operate and monitor roasting equipment to produce coffee according to defined profiles and production schedules.
- Adjust roast profiles as necessary to maintain consistency and meet quality standards.
- Maintain detailed roast logs and records, ensuring all data is accurately recorded and stored.
- Sample and taste roasted coffee to ensure it meets company flavor profiles.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to evaluate roasted coffee and make necessary adjustments.
- Regularly cup and evaluate coffee to ensure flavor consistency and quality.
- Inspect green coffee beans for quality and report any inconsistencies.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of green and roasted coffee beans.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering of green beans.
- Ensure proper storage of green and roasted beans to maintain freshness.
