Job Description
- Assess readiness of NU to accept challenged students
- Propose adjustments, participate in, and follow up on implementing them
- Promote and raise awareness about inclusive practice in teaching and learning: invite professionals to give awareness sessions, suggest readings, etc.
- Develop, update the Office policies and procedures in accordance with MOHE recommendations and the Egyptian law.
- Develop the guide for staff working with challenged students
- Develop the guide/procedure for challenged students
- Recommend modifications to the UG student manual, staff manual, etc.
- Supervise the complete process: admission, assessment, and adjustments.
- Maintain complete and accurate records
- Be the primary contact communicating with all challenged students
- Liaise with office coordinators from other departments to solve any arising problems
- Manage student scribes/note-takers
- Provide information and support to students and staff
- Supervise exam accommodations
- Develop and implement the monitoring system for challenged students’ performance and record changes in conditions or circumstances
- Update the office services and news on NU website
Job Requirements
- The Office Lead should hold a bachelor's degree in disability services or a related field.
- He should be knowledgeable in regulations about disabilities
- He should have at least 3 years’ experience working with special needs.
- He should have at least 1 year of administrative or management experience.
- He must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- He must have excellent English oral and written communication skills.
