Job Description
- Reporting the performance details of the Implemented HSEMS to the top management at periodic intervals and During the Management Review meetings.
- Developing, maintaining and distributing the HSEMS on a regular basis.
- Monitoring and verifying proper implementation of the Company’s HSEMS; implementing suggestions and recommendations for potential improvements in co-operation with the appropriate Departments.
- Verifying that established procedures are followed and that all necessary corrective actions concerning non-conformities and deficiencies are being carried out to completion.
- Supervising and performing internal audits on board Company Dredgers and vessels, reporting on conclusions of Ship Safety Committee meetings and following-up on suggested corrective actions.
- Investigating and analyzing injuries, accidents and other safety and pollution related incidents; proposing rectification action in order to avoid recurrence.
- Collecting news and information concerning related rules and regulations emanating from National, International and Industry bodies.
This is a generalist view of a Job that you have been assigned for – at times you will be ask to do above/beyond the scope of this role due to Operational requirements.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, recognized by all appropriate State & National Authorities or relevant/equivalent.
- Work experience in Marine field and discipline (to be determined at the time of employment). Seagoing experience as a certified ship officer in accordance to STCW as amended.
- Knowledge and understanding of the ISM Code, mandatory rules and regulation, applicable codes, guidelines and standards as appropriate.
Effective communication with shipboard staff and senior management.
Relevant experience:
Function specific experience
- Marine field and discipline (to be determined at the time of employment). Seagoing experience as a certified ship officer in accordance to STCW as amended.
Industry related experience
- Knowledge of Dredging/Civil Marine industry preferable
Years of experience
- 5-7 years of relevant experience
