Job Description
- Under the direct management of the Senior Accountant, the Accountant is in charge of the accountancy of
- his/her sub-data.
- The Accountant maintains the good management of the cashbox, bank, and SAGA books and the compliance of
- the accountancy with accounting principles, Tdh internal procedures, legal requirements, and donors' guidelines.
- General principles
- The incumbent commits to observe discretion on any information related to the organization's functioning. She/he will conduct her/his duties in respect of the Charter of Terre des Hommes (Tdh) and Tdh Safeguarding Policy. She/he commits to ensuring a high level of children's participation and will always work in the best interest of the child.

- Main responsibilities:
- Accounting
- Follow-up the bank and book balances and anticipate the treasury needs
- Review all Supporting Documents related to payment & ensure matching the finance checklist
- Register all transactions in the accounting system accurately and on a daily basis
- Responsible for the clearance of all advances on a monthly basis
- Register the accounting codes and budget allocations according to Tdh procedures
- Ensure the supporting documentation is translated into English
- Check the cash and bank balances on a weekly basis and inform the line manager in case of any discrepancy
- Guarantee the confidentiality of the financial information
- Provide the requested financial documentation and support the line manager in the audit preparation
- Prepare the closure and the cash and bank reconciliation reports at the end of each month
- Edit vouchers and archive with supporting documentation on a daily basis according to Tdh procedures
- Participate with the Senior accountant in the semi-annual & annual closures
- Reporting and communication
- · Deliver the monthly SAGA closure and the cash and bank reconciliation balances to the line manager accurate and within the due deadlines
- Inform the line manager of treasury needs
- Audit, Compliance & Internal Control
- Ensure the compliance of the supporting documentation before posting on the system
- · Ensure the financial support documents are archived according to Tdh procedures
- Perform any other tasks as may be requested by the line manager.
- Comply with Tdh Security Regulations
- Inform and share any incident or information related to the security of staff and beneficiaries with the Country Representative.
- Commit to respecting the Tdh Safeguarding Policy and principles of child protection;
- Commit to ensuring the best implementation possible of the Safeguarding Policy in Egypt;
- Commit to inform Child Safeguarding Focal Point and to deal with any cases, allegations, or the possibility of transgression, even potential, of the Safeguarding Policy.

- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- Experience
- 3 Years to 5 Years of Experience in Finance & Accounting, preferred in NGO environment, of which 1 at a management level within the finance department of an international organization or business
- Languages

- Advanced in Office, Finance & Accounting software
