Job Description:
As a Strategic Management Systems Consultant (SMO), your role is to assist organizations in the design, implementation, and optimization of strategic management systems to drive organizational performance and achieve business objectives. You will work closely with clients to assess their strategic needs, develop customized systems and frameworks, and provide ongoing support to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Assessment:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of the organization's strategic objectives, capabilities, and performance against industry benchmarks.
- Analyze internal processes, structures, and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and alignment with strategic goals.
System Design and Implementation:
- Design customized strategic management systems, including strategic planning frameworks, performance measurement systems, and governance structures.
- Develop methodologies, tools, and templates to support strategic decision-making, goal setting, and performance tracking.
Strategy Execution Support:
- Provide guidance and support to senior leadership and management teams in the execution of strategic initiatives and projects.
- Develop implementation plans, allocate resources, and establish accountability mechanisms to ensure successful execution of the strategic plan.
Performance Monitoring and Measurement:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance targets to monitor progress and measure success against strategic objectives.
- Establish dashboards, scorecards, and reporting mechanisms to track performance metrics and communicate results to stakeholders.
Change Management and Organizational Alignment:
- Develop change management plans and communication strategies to foster organizational buy-in and alignment with the strategic direction.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities to promote understanding and commitment to the strategic management system.
Continuous Improvement and Optimization:
- Monitor the effectiveness of the strategic management system and identify opportunities for optimization and refinement.
- Collect feedback from stakeholders, conduct reviews, and implement enhancements to ensure ongoing alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building:
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams on strategic management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Share insights, lessons learned, and success stories from strategic management projects to promote organizational learning and development.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Strategic Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in strategic management consulting, performance management, or organizational development roles.
- 15+ years of experience working governance consulting field
- Should be Proficient in writing technical reports
- Has experience in writing technical proposals
- Strong knowledge of strategic management frameworks, methodologies, and tools, such as Balanced Scorecard, OKRs, and Hoshin Kanri.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop actionable recommendations.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation abilities, with the capacity to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in strategic management software/tools (e.g., BSC Designer, ClearPoint Strategy) is a plus.
- Certification in strategic management (e.g., Balanced Scorecard Professional) or project management (e.g., PMP) is desirable.
