Job Description
- Conduct regular daily site inspections/ tours at least three times per-shift and for the high-risk area to identify potential hazards, and to ensure the safety procedures and PTW are properly applied by tracking activities and reporting violations to the Plant Manager.
- Ensuring workers, employees and supervisors are provided with suitable protective equipment through the safety tours, according to the area and nature of job such as eye goggles, ear protectors or appropriate types of gloves and clothing etc. and record the names who break the safety rules.
- Keeping up to date and ensuring all worksites compliance to statutory/legal Occupational Health, Environment & Safety company policies and procedures.
- Assists with ensuring that staff are kept abreast of the Corporation’s Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and programmed through on-going communication.
- Organizing /attending health and safety meetings, providing health and safety training sessions for employees and managers
- Responsible for inspecting, checking, and testing the manual firefighting networks & recording & filling weekly & monthly inspection forms and for the automatic system are responsible for follow up the outsourcing company.
- Compiling statistics, and analysis.
- Performing safety inductions for SG- newcomers and contractors.
- Performing initial investigation for any accidents or incidents, writing the required reports, collect the important data, and tracking & verifying such recommendations have been implemented.
- Assists in the planning, implementation and participation in the Corporation’s Emergency Response Plans, Drills and Community Awareness strategies.
- Carrying out safety inspection of machineries, tools, equipment’s on all the plant departments & locations ensuring proper features are present and items conform to required health and safety SG - standards, and taking photographs where necessary to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations and take the necessary actions plus reporting to the plant manger
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/chemistry or any related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in health and safety (construction and industrial companies).
- Basic knowledge of safety laws & Safety legal codes
- HSE Qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent is a plus
- Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.
- Good organization skills
- Good analytical skills and the ability to think critically
- Good public speaking skills
- Leadership skills
