Job Description
Chief accountants develop financial strategies, oversee the accounting department, make investment decisions, and develop financial strategies. They provide assistance to departments with their reviews and budgets, tax studies, and internal control. It is part of their job to respond to the accounting questions from time management. They take charge of monitoring and recording financial transactions based on corporate regulations and policies. Also, they recommend changes to the procedures of accounting.
- Ensuring all accounting transaction are performed correctly on time
- Confirm transaction are made accurately and entered in the accounting system
- Ensure suppliers invoice and reconciled and payments made
- Reconcile financial transaction every month
- Validate and reconcile inventory and fixed asset accounts
- Release employees EOSB and reconcile entries for EOSB provision
- Prepare the monthly cash requirement for FPIG and FPI Dubai
- Liaise with the department head to collect data for preparing budget and forecast
- Ensure collect data is loaded in analytical software
- Compare actual with a budget and determine the reason for the variances monthly
- Prepare year-end financial statement
- Ensure weekly bank reports generated by the IT department are properly reconciled with the bank statement
- Prepare a report for the finance management team
- Check cost center expenses and compare them against budget Validate online expense claim and process forward for approval
- Count petty cash weekly
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in accounting is required, Masters preferred
- Must possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in general or tax accounting
- Punctual, reliable and must have strong communication skill
- Must have oversight of monthly close, reviewing journal entries, reconciliation, and variance explanation
- Expert in the computer ledger system
- Advanced knowledge of excel and familiar with SAP 6.0 plus
- Able to function in a team and possess the strong problem-solving skill
- CPA certification preferred
- Strong financial accounting experience and public accounting experience preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skill is required
- Expert handling large ERP and reporting packages
