Job Description
- Translates the script and works along other directors to understand the vision of the videos and determine the initial design direction, requirements and guidelines
- Represents and manages a team of illustrators (character designers and background designers) and other creatives acting as a supervisor to them.
- Directs the team to produce 2D designs (drawings or paintings)
- Responsible for the visual style of the videos. Decides how the characters, props and environments are going to look and provide a basis for the rest of the art department to work from.
- Coordinates coalescence among team members and between the design/creative team and other departments
- Provides feedback on others' work and attends meetings with other department heads to define the direction of the videos.
- Strong communication and management skills.
- Responsible for ensuring all artwork is of a high quality and keeping in with the director’s vision.
- Responsible for making sure everyone in the art department stays on schedule.
Job Requirements
- 2-3 Years of experience as an Art Director
- +6 Years of experience in the field
- Strong portfolio demonstrating your innovative work in art.
- Skilled at building strong relationships and trust with creative partners
- Strong collaboration skills and track record of acting as an open and willing resource to team members in assessing ideas and directions
- Demonstrated ability to navigate conflicting priorities
- Detail-oriented manager who can navigate a large organization to execute under tight deadlines
- An exceptional communicator who knows when to stand your ground and when to compromise.
