Job Description

  • Conduct application trials, evaluations, and benchmarking of chemical products according to industry standards and customer processes.
  • Develop and optimize formulations to improve product performance, efficiency, cost, and sustainability.
  • Prepare application samples, mock-ups, and prototypes for internal validation and customer trials.
  • Analyze test results and recommend formulation or process improvements.
  • Support new product development and reformulation projects from lab scale to pilot and production scale.
  • Collaborate with R&T, production, and quality teams to ensure formulations are manufacturable and reproducible.
  • Assist in raw material evaluation, substitution, and qualification.
  • Provide technical support to sales and business development teams through application data, troubleshooting, and demonstrations.
  • Support customer trials, handle technical inquiries, and assist in resolving application-related issues.
  • Prepare technical reports, application guidelines, and product documentation.
  • Ensure all laboratory activities comply with HSE, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules, and chemical inventories.
  • Follow good laboratory practices and ensure accurate documentation of all experiments.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and competitor products.
  • Propose ideas for product improvement, cost optimization, and performance enhancement.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge databases and standard operating procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Applied Chemistry or a related field.
  • Postgraduate studies are an advantage.
  • 2–5 years of experience in an application lab, R&T, or technical service role within a chemicals manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with formulation development and application testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to translate technical results into practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
