Job Description
- Lead and manage the raw material purchasing section to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of ingredients.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for raw materials in alignment with production requirements and quality standards.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure optimal value and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and price fluctuations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted supply and compliance with specifications.
- Evaluate and select new suppliers, conducting audits and assessments to ensure adherence to company standards.
- Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, coordinating with warehouse and logistics for efficient stock management.
- Prepare and manage the purchasing budget, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial targets.
- Resolve supply chain issues, discrepancies, or delays promptly to minimize impact on production schedules.
- Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost savings for senior management review.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in raw material procurement, preferably within the food production or FMCG sector.
- Proven track record in negotiating supplier contracts and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends and supplier capabilities.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities to manage a team and multiple priorities.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply chain best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in food industry specially in sweets (chocolate, wafers)
