Job Description

Job Summary:

  • In support of the Caduceus Lane structure, the post holder shall operate as Medical Affairs team lead and report directly to the corresponding operation manager. The post holder would be the integral point of medical reference for the organization's departments and provide professional and technical support in addressing their medical, scientific, and research needs within specific guidelines.
  • The post holder should provide leadership to groups of Medical Affairs department members and undertake responsibility for administration in one or more areas of Caduceus Lane business functions while maintaining a "hands-on" contribution as a member of the department. 

Responsibilities:  

  • To provide medical leadership to the tactical medical team members, including general scientific supervision, practice audit, development, and training  
  • To provide guidance and support to the Medical Affairs Department
  • To assist in the business-as-usual operations of Caduceus Lane by tracking task management
  • To disseminate, review, and present clinical and scientific data in group and one-on-one settings
  • To provide evidence-based advice and guidance to all members of the department
  • To act as a resource to the Medical Communication Franchise regarding scientific research and medical content writing aspects
  • To develop scientific communication materials (slide presentations, communication tools, medical reports.., etc.) for dissemination through integrated scientific and healthcare marketing projects
  • To lead/participate in medical and scientific forums (scientific discussions and medical conferences) if required
  • To maintain adequate records of all types in alignment with professional guidance
  • To adhere to the requirements of Caduceus Lane, ensuring the highest quality of research and outcome
  • To ensure that the best use is made of all resources, including human, financial, and environmental aspects
  • To provide effective management, support, and guidance to the Medical Affairs Department members with responsibility for team appraisals, absence management, personal development, staff communication 
  • To collaborate with in-house business partners to facilitate an ongoing exchange of clinical information (i.e., new data, competitive intelligence, insights learned from customers)
  • To act as a representative for the organization taking part in external promotional activities as needed and in professional relationships and collaborative working 
  • To plan and allocate resources and individuals in accordance with skills and schedules
  • To formulate professional development and educational plans for all Medical Affairs Department members
  • To evaluate the department's hired medical reviewers and medical advisors during the probation period.
  • To provide Medical Team Development Plan and Growth Strategies 
  • To research and analyze scientific studies and medical data to develop insights and contribute to publications as needed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Advanced, post-graduate scientific degree required (MD, Ph.D., Pharm D)
  • Prior experience working in the Medical Affairs function for the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry experience is an asset
  • Strong People Management Experience
  • Fluency in the English language is a must
  • Therapy area flexibility is necessary to meet changing business needs
  • Ability to work in virtual teams and Matrix environment
  • Sound negotiation and leadership skills
  • An excellent public speaker with outstanding presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team orientation and the ability to work closely with cross-functional partners
