Job Description
- 10+ years of combined career experience as an engineering project leader and hands-on Electrical design engineer of electromechanical systems for construction projects.
- Review, recommend and evaluate the design, installation, and operations of low voltage electrical systems, instrumentation, and power controls systems/stations to ensure compliance with NEC requirements, while evaluating them for the optimization of efficient, safe and economical operation.
- Plan and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work while supporting the department and Project Manager with delivery.
- Interface with other technical/engineering disciplines to ensure the effective integration of electrical systems with the overall product design.
- Assist with the commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and systems.
- Able to supervise & manage a team of engineers & draftsmen, provide guidance, and be accountable for overall team performance.
- Preparing drawings for drafting by the CAD team a working understanding / use of Autodesk (& Revit)
- Participates in meetings (Vendor & Internal & Client), reviews progress and addresses interface/implementation/execution issues.
- Engineering planning – interprets a supplied project scope and applies applicable industry regulations and codes, standard engineering procedures, and good engineering practices, to develop a schedule and plan to execute the engineering deliverables and design reviews. Manages engineering schedule according to budget to ensure on time deliverables while maintaining schedule and cost performance. Supports the trend program to manage changes.
- Provides technical oversight in leading the development of the following deliverables, design reviews and tasks: Electrical Equipment Specifications, Electrical Equipment Datasheets, Material Requisitions for Quote and Purchase, Technical Bid Evaluations, Inspection and Test Plans, Vendor document review, Inspection reports, etc.
- Provide technical support to resolve construction and startup questions and issues.
- Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to senior project engineering management.
- Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly & working to time allocations
- Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
- Team performance direction, monitoring and reporting.
- Provide technical performance report to head of MEP.
Job Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering .
- Proficiency in Revit, 3D CADD.
- Thorough understanding of the roles played by other engineering disciplines and departments on projects, and their interfaces with the electrical team, including construction practices and the economics involved.
- Knowledge and understanding of commercial aspects and procurement strategy of mechanical systems.
- Thorough understanding of Engineering planning and control methods.
- Able to work in project groups with shared-work teams globally, to progress project deliverables.
- Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
- Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with client is essential.
