Job Description

NOVA Cairo @ TKH provides innovative undergraduate higher education in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Applied Math's to Risk Management, Management and Information Management. Due to the continued growth of our teaching activity, NOVA Cairo @ TKH wishes to appoint an Assistant Lecturer in Accounting to contribute to lecturing, delivery of tutorials, organizing seminars and workshops, supervising student projects, and participating in field trips, among others.

  1. Supervision received: Responsible to the Branch Director/Program Directors or nominee.
  2. Supervision given: supervises the work of students as may be allocated from time to time, Assistant Lecturers, and Instructors, as appropriate.

Job Requirements

Education/Qualifications

  1. The candidate should be a MSc holder in a relevant subject and an appropriate curriculum for teaching Accounting discipline to Management students
  2. The candidate should have excellent English skills, both written and oral.
  3. The candidate should possess a wide range of skills and competencies, namely:
    • A deep understanding of accounting concepts and principles.
    • Ability to explain complex accounting topics in a clear and concise manner.
    • Ability to clearly articulate complex accounting concepts and theories to students of all levels.
    • Ability to design effective lesson plans, use appropriate instructional methods, and assess student learning.
    • Ability to incorporate technology into their teaching to enhance the learning experience for students.
    • Possess strong analytical skills to help students apply accounting concepts to real-world scenarios.
    • Ability to help students develop critical thinking skills and solve problems.
    • Ability to continuously learn and stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in accounting education.
    • Ability to manage their time efficiently and plan lessons in advance to ensure that the course material is covered in a timely manner.
    • Ability to recognise and respond to their students' individual learning styles, using various teaching methods to reach all learners.
    • Ability to build rapport with students, foster a positive learning environment, and encourage active participation in class discussions.
    • Ability to design and administer assessments that accurately measure student learning and understanding.

Teaching experience

  1. Recent teaching experience at higher education level with evidence.
  2. Evidence of excellent/innovative pedagogic practice.
  3. Extensive knowledge in subject/discipline.
  4. The candidate should have demonstrated academic leadership at course level.

  1. Ability to work independently, take the initiative, and innovate.
  2. Ability to identify and secure opportunities for the development of the School/University.
  3. Commitment to delivering high-quality services to students and partners.
  4. Good organizational and management skills.

  7. Ability to develop and maintain successful external and internal networks to seed relationships for future business collaborations.

  9. A demonstrable appreciation of other cultures; the university's global reach and its international agenda.

Interpersonal skills

  1. Effective oral and written communication skills in both individual and group situations.
  2. Ability to lead and work as a member of a team or group.
  3. Ability to relate to students with diverse backgrounds, ages, and experience.
  4. Ability to connect to a range of external stakeholders and partners of the university from the private/public/voluntary sectors.

Other requirements

  1. Willingness to undertake academic activities in the evening when necessary and participate in occasional weekend activities such as recruitment days.
  2. A willingness to travel locally, nationally, and internationally as required to undertake academic and related activities.
