Job Description
- Review and evaluate medical claims and requests for approval in accordance with hospital policies and insurance guidelines.
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations and resolve queries related to patient coverage.
- Ensure all approvals are processed efficiently to facilitate timely patient care and hospital admissions.
- Educate patients and families on insurance coverage, approval processes, and any required documentation.
- Monitor and track pending approvals to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, regulations, and hospital procedures.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree. (Admin role- Not for doctors or pharmacists).
- 1-5 years of experience in medical approvals, insurance claims, or healthcare administration.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance processes, and hospital operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, staff, and insurers.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple approval requests simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems and office software applications.
- Problem-solving skills to address complex or disputed approval cases.
