Overview: As a Material Control Specialist, you will be the linchpin in ensuring that all project materials are managed with precision, from procurement to deployment. Your strategic oversight will guarantee operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to the highest quality standards across our construction and engineering sites. This role is crucial for maintaining project timelines and budgets in our fast-paced industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Masterful Material Management: Oversee and optimize the entire material lifecycle, including tracking, receiving, storing, issuing, and disposing of materials for large-scale engineering and construction projects.

  • Unyielding Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce rigorous quality control procedures for all incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

  • Strategic Store Management: Lead and enhance storekeeping operations, including warehouse layout, inventory accuracy, and material preservation, maintaining an organized and efficient storage environment.

  • Seamless Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with procurement, project management, and site teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery and distribution of materials, minimizing delays and disruptions.

  • Proactive Inventory Control: Conduct regular inventory audits, reconcile discrepancies, and implement robust inventory management systems to prevent shortages or overstocking.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analysis to identify trends, optimize material flow, and report on key performance indicators to senior management.

  • Safety and Compliance Champion: Ensure all material handling and storage practices adhere to stringent health and safety regulations and company policies.

Skills & Technologies: You will leverage your expertise in Material Control, Quality Assurance, and Store Management daily. Proficiency in Inventory Management,. Your ability to lead, solve complex problems, and communicate effectively will be invaluable.

Job Requirements

  • Experience That Excites: Possess a minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in Material Control, Store Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain roles, with a strong preference for backgrounds within the engineering, construction, or civil/architecture sectors.

  • Mastery of Core Skills: Demonstrated expertise in Material Control, Quality Assurance, Store Management, and Storekeeping.

  • Logistics & Inventory Prowess: Proven ability in Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Coordination, and optimizing Warehouse Operations, particularly within Construction Site Logistics.

  • Quality Champion: A deep understanding and practical experience in implementing Quality Control measures and ensuring Health and Safety Compliance.

  • Leadership & Communication: Excellent Team Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
