Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in organizing and managing sports events. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the sports industry, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to successfully execute projects within budget and timeline constraints.
Responsibilities:
1. Event Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables for sports events. Develop comprehensive event plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
2. Team Leadership: Lead a team of event coordinators, volunteers, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless execution of sports events. Delegate tasks effectively, provide guidance and support as needed, and foster a collaborative work environment.
3. Budget Management: Create and manage event budgets by estimating costs accurately, tracking expenses throughout the project lifecycle, negotiating contracts with suppliers/vendors, and ensuring financial goals are met.
4. Vendor Management: Identify suitable vendors for various event requirements such as venue selection, catering services, audiovisual equipment rentals, security services, etc. Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.
5. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in sports events including clients/sponsors/teams/athletes/officials etc. Provide regular updates on project progress, address concerns or issues promptly, and ensure client satisfaction.
6. Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify potential risks associated with sports events such as weather conditions, technical failures, or logistical challenges. Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks effectively while ensuring minimal disruption to the event schedule.
7. On-site Event Management: Oversee all aspects of event execution on-site including setup/breakdown logistics coordination, managing staff/volunteers/vendors during the event day(s), and troubleshooting any issues that arise promptly.
8. Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of sports events. Analyze feedback from stakeholders, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes for future events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the sports industry, including event planning, logistics, and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

- Proficiency in project management software/tools is preferred
