Job Description
- Tendering Engineer:
- Main responsibilities will be reviewing tenders, quotations, and raising RFI’s
- Very good experience in cost estimate and tendering for all civil works activities in industrial and commercial projects; include good knowledge in steel structure works
cost estimate, tendering and quantity surveying. - Review the tender documents such as the BOQ, drawings and specifications to
understand the scope of the project and its requirements. - Preparing site visit report after exploring site condition & surroundings.
- Quantities takeoff / Survey against available drawings.
- Prepare the request of quotation to be sent to the suppliers and the subcontractors to
obtain technical and commercial offers. - Prepare a comparison sheet that analyzes the differences between the offers received
to facilitate selecting the best vendors. - The preparation of cost breakdown to price the project efficiently.
- Support in the finalization of technical proposal to be reviewed with the direct
manager in order to submit it to the client. - Prepare tenders technical & financial proposals.
- Attend clients’ meetings either pre-tender meeting or final meetings, when needed to
be aware of the updates. - Follow up with client & developer during bid evaluation stage.
- Maintaining communications with current clients and establishing communications
with new potential Clients. - A. Plate, steel structure and piping Works Estimation Engineer:
- Estimate scope for a variety of small, medium and large projects in Cement, Refining, Chemicals, Oil & Gas using appropriate tools and systems
- Preliminary review of the enquires documents and the basic scope of works and conduct site surveys and visits to determine scope of work for required activitie
- Ensure full receipt of tender documentation including engineering drawings and specifications.
- Raise RFIs (Technical clarification) with the tendering department during cost estimate phase.
- Cost estimating for all manufacturing (Fabrication) steelworks (steel structure, plate works, and piping works).
- Cost estimating including preliminary engineering and quantity survey for API Tanks and ASME pressure vessels and should be Proficient inestimation of thevarious Storage tanks,Pressure vessels & Piping in Cement, Oil and Gas Refinery, Petrochemicals, Power, Steel & Infrastructure EPC projects.
- Sub-contractor/Sub-suppliers inquiries and correspondences for raw material prices and other services.
- Coordinates with Erection / Installation cost estimators for the requirements for site works and level of assembly at manufacturing facility.
- Prepared technical proposals in collaboration with other relevant departments.
- Development of preliminary design forms and estimation sheets (Excel/VBA).
- Preparation of risk analysis, cash flow and budget.
Job Requirements
- Min BSc in Production or Mechanical Engineering.
- Overall experience above 3 years as plate works cost estimation engineer, min 1-2 years
as production engineer in manufacturing facility. - Must have worked for a major Sheet metal or tanks or pressure vessels manufacturing
company. - Familiar with Standards & Codes (ASME / API) and other codes that applicable for tanks,
pressure vessels and piping works design, fabrication and construction such as API 650,
AWWA D100, BS EN 14015:2004, ASME Sec II, ASME Sec VIII, ASME Sec IX. - Good knowledge in industrial projects and Oil & Gas projects.
