Job Description

  • Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring clear and efficient communication with all stakeholders, and also for completing the necessary paperwork that is involved in the whole business process.
  • Effectively coordinates the transport activities of the company.
  • Coordinating the outward and inward movement (shipping) and receiving of work equipment.
  • Develops important indicators that measure and show the effectiveness of the company’s transportation operations.
  • Develops cordial relationships with all clients and can satisfy them.
  • Maintains a good relationship with the required transportation personnel to make sure that deliveries are carried out efficiently.
  • Follow up on all operation cycles related to transportation.
  • Runs all operation processes.
  • Find ways to increase the quality of customer service.
  • Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant.
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
  • Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • +10 years of experience in an operational department in a transportation company.
  • Knowledge of the procedures and modes of transportation for heavy vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of heavy vehicles.
  • Strong organizational.
  • Proven work experience as Operations Manager or similar role.
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Experience budgeting and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Outstanding organisational skills.
  • Degree in Business, Operations Management or a related field.
  • Good customer service skills to be able to maintain/retain existing customers.
  • Time management skills, and ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Leadership skills.
