Location: Cairo (inactive), EgyptThales people architect solutions that support 85 million mainline and suburban passenger journeys, worldwide, every day. Thales in Egypt is part of our Middle East business that has 1,800 people across Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, KSA, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and UAE.Together We delivered fare collection and control and communication systems for the first metro line in Africa, Metro Line 1 in Cairo. Since then we have continued to bring growth and security and safety to the country by upgrading these transportation systems as well as providing solutions for customers in air traffic management, air defence and Navy.Job Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Project Manager to lead and manage our portfolio of one project in Automatic Fare Collection (AFC). As a Project Manager, you will report directly to the Head of AFC Projects and work closely with the teams located in France and Cairo.Main Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Provide strategic direction, leadership, and guidance for the portfolio of AFC projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and project goals. Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and risk management strategies. Oversee project execution, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project timelines and milestones. Team Management: Build and manage project teams, including project managers, engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, ensuring effective communication, resource allocation, and skills development. Stakeholder Management: Identify and engage key stakeholders, such as clients, vendors, and internal departments, to establish clear project expectations, manage relationships, and ensure timely resolution of issues or conflicts. Collaboration with France Teams: Work closely with the teams located in France, fostering effective collaboration and communication channels to ensure smooth project delivery and knowledge sharing. Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and manage financial aspects of the projects. Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or timelines. Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed industry standards and client requirements. Risk Management: Identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address potential issues to minimize project disruptions. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular project progress reports, executive summaries, and other relevant documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project status, milestones, and risks. Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in AFC. Leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and continuous improvement in project management processes. Experience, Qualifications & Skills Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects in the field of Automatic Fare Collection or a related industry. Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on end-to-end project delivery and stakeholder management. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interact with clients, senior management, and project teams. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies. Solid understanding of budgeting, financial management, and risk assessment. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
