About the job School Marketing Manager

Responsibilities:


  • Familiarise yourself with the Aldenham brand ideals and websites to create content that supports their objectives and desired identity.
  • Work with the AEG marketing agency to develop a web content strategy that encompasses the goals of the school and aligns with the Aldenham image.
  • Work with the AEG marketing agency and/or local marketing agency to design direct marketing campaigns to generate interest from existing and new markets and to position the school effectively
  • Cooperate and work with the marketing agency to ensure that the individual school marketing is in keeping with the Aldenham brand
  • Oversee the management of the school website, in liaison with the Agency, and guiding ideas for development.
  • Work with staff and pupils in the school to create a rich seam of creative and appropriate content to represent the vibrant and diverse nature of what is offered in the school, capturing key events but also effectively portraying the normal on both the website and social media channels
  • Oversee a content marketing calendar that schedules all aspects of the creation and delivery of content throughout the year both for in-house media, but also third-party directories and advertising, in liaison with the Agency
  • Alongside the Head and in liaison with the AEG Agency, manage the approval of the monthly content plan for social media from the marketing agency
  • Review copy for articles on the websites written by the agency and approve for posting
  • Monitor the position of the school in the press, reporting to the Head and the AEG marketing agency any concerns
  • In liaison with the Head and the Office Manager, be responsible for the organisation of Open Days and other dedicated marketing events in School.
  • Be responsible for the booking and leading of Tours for prospective parents and others to the School, in liaison with the Registrar.
  • Make connections with external companies and compounds in order to drive interest from their employees and clients in sending children to the School
  • Develop good working relationships with the other early years settings from which pupils are joining Aldenham. This will include the day to day contact about the
  • admissions process, but will also include visits to those settings, when required, on either a formal (open day) or informal basis
  • Attend events to capture them as content. Take photographs and video and edit to make them web and agency ready. Events may take place in the evenings and some weekends.
  • Manage the photo and video library on Teams/Sharepoint, developing appropriate categorisation to enable easy search.
  • Monitor permissions for photo and video usage, in consultation with the Registrar.
  • Working with AEG marketing agency, stay abreast of current best practices in the industry and review competitor websites and Social Media Feeds to compare their activities with those of this school
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels and efficient/effective working relationships with other members of school personnel and customers.
  • Working with the Registrar and Agency, produce regular reports on the effectiveness of our Marketing, updating and tracking numbers of applications, visitors, offers and confirmed new starters for each Year Group and Academic Year of Entry.

Skills and Qualities needed for School Marketing Manager:


  • A passion for digital marketing and a readiness to embrace the fast developments in the digital world
  • At least three years of agency experience or similar in a content creation/events management role
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a good command of the English language
  • Excellent written communication skills and an ability to write and proofread copy in English
  • Extremely computer literate, demonstrating facility to learn new applications quickly and with minimal support
  • Ability to conceive fresh and appealing ideas for new content that establishes or supports the Aldenham brand identity and is appropriate for the different target ages
  • An understanding of the principles of SEO to write creative copy that includes effective keyword placement.
  • Good understanding of Social Media marketing, including appropriate strategy on developing content plans for organic advertising and sales funnels for paid advertising
  • Strong skills in creating original content that targets a specific audience and meets company objectives.
  • Ability with photography and photoshop (or similar) to prepare appropriate and creative content for the agency and for our own website
  • Ability with videography and video editing platforms to prepare appropriate and creative content for the agency and for our own website.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office 365, including MS Teams for collaboration, Sway and Forms
  • Good working knowledge of WordPress
  • The Marketing Manager will need to be capable of carrying the necessary work on print materials in liaison with external agencies as required.
