OverviewThe Network Architect – IP/MPLS participates in design and supports the decision-making process related to Core42 DC Interconnect (DCI) infrastructure, ensuring topology scalability, network performance and timely delivery.  The Network Architect – IP/MPLS designs complex DCI solutions ensuring compliance with functional, and non-functional requirements as well as propose design and topology changes to improve availability and resiliency of the implemented solutions.Core42 is the UAE’s national-scale enabler for cloud and generative AI, combining G42 Group’s expertise across multiple technology disciplines into a single platform for public sector and large enterprise transformations. Building on our capabilities as sovereign cloud and HPC specialist, we bring generative AI, cybersecurity, professional and managed services expertise to enable national-scale program deployments across industries.Responsibilities Define DCI functional requirements for the Core42 Products and Platforms and respectable supporting services. Design complex WAN/LAN scalable network solutions with focus on high-availability, redundancy, and resiliency meeting internal and external/client requirements. Communicate with internal stakeholders on architecture, technology roadmaps and application requirements related to network and network security design. Prepare RFI/RFP/RFQ documents, create BOQs for DCI networking components. Prepare DCI HLD/LLD in Core42 environment including network hardware and design. Plan and document security baseline of the networking architecture by collaborating with security and application teams. Participate in planning of network cabling between DCI to meet future requirements. Provide support to internal maintenance and engineering teams in maintenance, migration and replacement of complex network or security blocks. Plan technical integration with external/partner networks, proposing new partners and opportunities. Follow and propose improvements for internal collaboration by creating optimal framework for network architecture assessment, evaluation, and selection processes. Communicate with vendors regarding designs, technology roadmaps and application requirements related to network design. Collaborate with the Vendor Technology Assistance Center regarding complex functionality configuration. Assist L3 support when required to resolve complex incidents related to DCI network. Create presentations for client meetings and attend meetings with clients. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom Engineering. Minimum 7 years of experience in service provider network planning, design and implementation. Detailed knowledge about MPLS architecture and concepts. Knowledge about MPLS Traffic Engineering and Segment Routing/SRv6 Deep knowledge of L2/L3 connectivity concepts: Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6. Expert level knowledge in core network technologies: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS (LDP/RSVP), MPLS based Layer 2 & Layer 3 VPNs, EVPN based Layer 2 & layer 3 VPNs, Inter VPN Route Leaking, Policy Based Routing, QoS, GRE and MACsec. Expertise in planning, design, implementation and troubleshooting of protocols like OSPF, ISIS & BGP, MPLS, LDP/RSVP, MP-BGP, MPLS QOS, GRE, MACsec. Understanding of IP Multicast concepts and solutions (PIM, IGMP, MSR). Excellent understanding of following protocols: TCP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, IPSec, DNS. Deep understanding of Internet & Inter-AS connectivity models. Deep understanding of Public IP and NNI/PNI peering concept.Familiar with industry standards, such as ISO or NIST. Expert level certificates in Service Provider or Design a re highly desirable . Team player, self-motivated, willing to learn, result oriented, willing to share knowledge.
