Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Institutional and Research External Expert for its Mediterranean Youth in Action Programme. Vision of the Programme: The Mediterranean Youth in Action (MYA) program strives to encourage political participation among young people, bridge the gap between generations, and promote active citizenship in the Mediterranean region. The programme aims to engage committed young people through various activities and empower them as agents of positive change and responsible leaders. With a genuine Euro-Mediterranean approach, MYA has three main goals: empowering young people to shape public policy and engage with decision-makers and civil society, implementing transformative initiatives through participatory approaches, and enhancing youth leadership in decision-making and coordination with peers in the Euro-Mediterranean space. It is structured in six working packages, each with a specific methodology. Profile: Mediterranean Youth in Action Institutional & research external expert, following the indications of the ExecutiveDirector and the Mediterranean Youth in Action Programme Leader, provides direction on the different files andactivities related to empower young researchers to address Euro-Med issues; engage policymakers and civilsociety and achieve young leader’s active participation in policy dialogues across the Euro-Mediterranean region,and ensures that the execution of the related activities are aligned with the main policies and tendencies in theEuro-Mediterranean region.QualificationsAnalyse the Euro-Mediterranean and National policy frameworks related to youth, gender and intercultural dialogue and provide guidance to embed them into the MYA and ALF actionsAdvise the ALF Executive Director and the MYA Programme Leader on new formulas to foster civil society cooperation and engage civil society entities, as a key factor of cohesion, in line with the MYA’s objectivesConceptualise and strategise MYA activities in line with the ALF mandate, in a way that maximises their policy relevance and their impact on policy making, particularly on transforming inputs into actionable ideas and policy recommendations Liaise national and regional institutions and map events/initiatives opportunities at the Euro-Mediterranean scale to set a MYA agenda consistently with the evidence-based research activities and itsinstitutional objectivesContribute to guarantee compliance with the targets, outputs and outcomes defined in the MYA formulation in terms of institutional relations, Intercultural Stakeholders' Dialogues and evident-based research, including the elaboration of the related narrative and financial reports and other formal documentationCarry out field missions related to specific meetings, events or field assessments and report about themPerform any other function related to the position of MYA Institutional & research external expert requested by the Executive Director or the MYA Programme LeaderRequisitesBachelor’s degree in a relevant field related to the key above-detailed responsibilities Minimum five years of work experience related to European Union Institutions Minimum five years of work experience in Euro-Mediterranean policy frameworks Minimum five years of work experience in policy oriented research programmes Minimum five years of work experience in formulating EU project proposals Minimum five years of work experience in editing and supervising evidence-based research Excellent written and oral English skills Excellent written and oral French skillsAssets: Good written and oral Arabic skills
