Machine Operator

OverviewElement has an opportunity for a Machine Operator to join our rapidly expanding team.As a member of the operations team, the Machining position performs a variety of routine and non-routine machining assignments within the department assigned and ensures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision.This position will be based in Abu Dhabi , UAEResponsibilitiesUse cutting equipment to prepare specimens for testing as dictated by the requirements of specifications and standardsPerform a variety of grinding and machining tasks according to the instructions from the Supervisor based on applicable specifications and requirementsUnderstand the technical requirements for the specimens as advised and ensure compliance in terms of readiness of the specimensMaintain equipment and follow all aspects of preventative maintenance ,gathering and recording dimensions in accordance with quality assurance requirementsSkills / QualificationsITI certified or equivalent trade skills in machining along with working knowledge of laboratory/machine shop safety protocols & 2 years of relevant experience in a machining shop environment using manually operated machinesWell-developed understanding of specimen preparation and skilled in using machines, measuring instruments and dimensional conceptsAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus and computer skills would be advantageousExperience in driving a forklift is an advantageAble to exert moderate physical force and able to lift <20kgs often and > 20kgs on occasionAbility to stand on feet for long periods of timeCompany OverviewElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
