Senior Firmware Engineer - Petalinux Specialist

Your role

We are looking for Firmware Engineer who is experienced and willing to join our Radar development team at Saab Ltd, Abu Dhabi

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware solutions for embedded systems, with a focus on Petalinux-based platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
• Implement and optimize device drivers, bootloaders, and board support packages (BSPs) using Petalinux tools.
• Troubleshoot and debug firmware issues throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices in firmware development.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in embedded systems and Petalinux technology.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers as needed.
• Mentoring other Firmware engineers

Experience and Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in firmware development, with a focus on embedded systems.
• Proficiency in Petalinux development and configuration.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with Linux kernel development, device drivers, and BSP integration.
• Familiarity with hardware description languages (HDL) such as Verilog or VHDL is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Familiarity with networking protocols and standards.
