Job Description

Job DescriptionAs the People HR - Senior Manager, you will be part of GM's Human Resources team, you will perform day-to-day HR business activities and partner with business function counterparts on initiatives that align with GM’s objectives, mission and culture. You will work with assigned business function's HR team, HR Communities of Expertise, and other stakeholders to build engagement, increase output, and attract and retain talent.Key Responsibilities:Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations and provides guidance when appropriate.Works closely with employees, HR Director, and management to improve work relationships, Workplace of Choice (WoC), build morale, and increase productivity and retention.Supports international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.Provides insight on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.Partners with HR Director to fill open positions within the organization by providing support during interviews when requested and offer process in conjunction with Global Talent Acquisition (GTA) team.Responsible for compensation analysis during comp planning time as well as related to internal move recommendations and hiring.Partners with management to conduct Performance Improvement discussions. Partners with employees to help improve on performance concerns.Partner with employees to conduct Career Development discussions.Partner with Policy & Investigation Centre of Expertise (COE) to resolve complex salaried employee relations issues and investigations.Responsible for People leaders HRM for an alignment on plans.Actively contribute with Business HR to develop mid and long-term strategies.Actively have communication with people and business HR related to the functions they provide counselingConducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to Business HR for corrective action and continuous improvement.Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.Identifies training needs for business units and individual leadership coaching needs, including performing necessary coaching to employees in partnership with Global Business Solutions (GBS) area.Facilitates or provides corporate training (including orientation, Demystify HRM, Conducting Career Development discussions, etc.) to the workforce.Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
