Want to join the ride?Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning and upkeep of all workshop machinery, tools, and infrastructure. This includes conducting preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, and performing repairs in line with Wärtsilä's quality and safety standards.Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in the workshop. Troubleshoot and repair workshop machinery such as cranes, compressors, lathes, hydraulic presses, balancing machines, and other precision tools. Ensure minimum downtime of workshop operations by responding swiftly to equipment failures. Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery. Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and checklists. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and improve equipment reliability. Ensure all work complies with Wärtsilä's safety and quality protocols. Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or spare parts procurement. Provide support during workshop layout changes, machine relocations, or upgrades. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. May be required to assist in engine component overhaul activities when assigned, based on job requirements and workload.Required Qualifications & Skills ITI in Electrical Engineering. 5 - 7 years of experience in industrial or workshop maintenance. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Experience in diesel engine components overhaul jobs is an added advantage.Work Environment Based in a high-precision workshop handling overhauls and repairs. Involves physical work and use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). May require shift work or extended hours during critical maintenance periods.Why you and us?
