we design structures such as bridges, high-rise design, precast concrete engineering and post-tensioning design. The firm's core work is structural engineering; however, e.construct is increasingly holistic at its approach to buildings and it has divisions in MEP, Geotechnical and emerging construction technology such as 3D printing of concrete, technology and 3D laser scanning.

We are a tech startup that is being incubated in the technology lab of e.construct and we employ technology to empower and eventually transform engineering. VAES’s mission is to reduce the amount of raw materials we design in our buildings and bridges by using optimization algorithms and machine learning.
VAES consists of a team of software developers, civil engineers, machine learning experts, architects and graphic designers that builds tools that engineers can use to design and manufacture the next generation of cities.

We're seeking an enthusiastic Communications Specialist to oversee both external and internal communications. Your role will involve fostering a positive public perception while managing the flow of information within VAES.
The ideal candidates will possess exceptional communication and copywriting skills as fundamental requirements for this role. Moreover, candidates with experience in corporate communications and project management will be highly regarded. Demonstrating enthusiasm and maintaining a positive attitude will be pivotal in fostering trust among both colleagues and external stakeholders.

Internal & External Communcations

• Develop effective corporate communication strategies.
• Manage internal communications (fireside chat, newsletters etc.)
• Draft content (e.g. success stories. project highlights) for social media or company website.
• Organize initiatives and plan events or relevant conferences.
• Participate in collaborative reviews of comms materials supporting major milestones.
• Liaise with media and handle requests for interviews, statements etc.
• Foster relationships with advocates and key persons

Creative Research

• Copywriting: Review of materials, statements, publicly submitted materials, etc. through the lens of VAES brand voice and reputation management.
• Assist in communication of strategies or messages from senior management to the team.
• Support with Employer branding initiatives.
• Maintain pre-approved narratives and external resources, updating across projects and as business priorities or external storylines shift.
• Collaborate with the Creative team and portfolio managers to ensure response accuracy in crisis or reactive communications.
• Identify and apply for interesting and relevant events and conferences for VAES founders to attend, participate in and become Guest Speakers or Panel members.

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience in the field of communication
• Experience in content production is a must
• Experience in copywriting and editing
• Solid understanding of project management principles
• Working knowledge of MS Office; other Creative tools for writing
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
• Outstanding organizational and planning abilities
• Proficient command of English
• BSc/BA in public relations, communications or relevant field
• Engineering, Sustainability or Architecture Experience is a plus.
