Job Description

Our client, a leading online publication dedicated to covering the best in gear, adventure, and design, is seeking a Content Production Assistant with proficiency in WordPress and content management. This role is integral to supporting the editorial team by uploading content, managing images, and copyediting blogs with a strong foundation in grammar and the use of tools like Grammarly.The ideal candidate is highly organized, capable of working autonomously, and quick to adapt to new projects and tasks. While not mandatory, some video editing experience will be considered a valuable asset. Fluent in English and skilled in data entry and layout, this role demands attention to detail and a proactive approach to supporting a dynamic editorial team.Location: Fully-Remote (Work from Home), 9 AM - 5 PM ESTKey Responsibilities:WordPress Management: Upload content and images to WordPress, ensuring proper layout and website standards are maintained. Copyediting: Use basic copywriting knowledge and Grammarly to edit blogs, maintaining high standards of grammar and clarity. Editorial Support: Assist editors with organization and project management, contributing to the efficient operation of the publication process. Data Management: Perform data entry and ensure the accurate layout of documents and content within WordPress. Autonomous Workflow: Work independently, managing time effectively to meet deadlines and pick up new tasks quickly. Photo and Multimedia Editing: Basic photo editing skills to upload, position, and lightly edit (cropping) photos and multimedia content for the platform (nice to have). This would also include adding metadata, photo descriptions, and basic captions. What Success Looks Like:The smooth operation of content uploads and management, resulting in a consistently updated and visually appealing website. Enhanced quality of blog posts, with errors minimized through diligent copyediting. Strong organizational support to editors, facilitating streamlined editorial processes. Effective contribution to multimedia content through video editing skills (if applicable). Qualifications:Strong proficiency in WordPress including the latest Gutenberg editor, with experience uploading content and managing website content. Solid understanding of grammar and copyediting practices, with heavy use of tools like Grammarly. Fluency in English, with excellent communication and writing skills. Ability to work autonomously, demonstrating high levels of organization and initiative. Experience in data entry and ensuring the accurate presentation of content. Some video editing experience is desirable but not required.
