Department DefinitionThe Real Estate Developments Division is responsible for the development and delivery of operational for the real estate projects at Expo City Dubai. The team is responsible for implementing the development strategy for Expo City Dubai and works with variety of stakeholders from the master planning phase, through design and construction, to ensure the delivery of large-scale construction projects.Opportunity ResponsibilitiesThe GIS Manager will be developing a Programme wide GIS Strategy, interface with internal and external stakeholders to promote the implementation of the Strategy. Secure availability of necessary geospatial information and provide support across all Programme Groups as part of the Masterplanning & Design department.The main responsibilities for this role include:Strategic Responsibilities:Develop, maintain and update the ECD Programme wide GIS Strategy and GIS databases.Communicate the GIS Strategy and Management Plan to internal and external Project Managers and Design Consultants.Secure integration of the DCs’ GIS deliverables within the Programme level databases.Secure embedded and centralized support to the ECDDelivery Teams in all phases of the Programmed.Secure the development of the necessary geodatabases and tools to achieve the Strategic and Delivery goals in all phases of the Programme.Secure access to geospatial information, necessary to achieve the Programme goals.Representing EXPO to external stakeholders for all GIS matters.Set up relevant codes, practices, and standards for the review of GIS and modelling submissions by consultants and contractors where necessary for ECD Masterplanning &Design and Project Delivery departments.Manage and co-ordinate reviews of various consultants’ GIS and other related submissions as part of the Masterplanning and Design Department approvals process.Support and report to the Associate Director of Masterplanning & Design on matters relating to the above strategic responsibilities.Operational ResponsibilitiesPlay a leading role in defining the ECD GIS Strategy and Management Plan with all necessary updates for the duration of the Programme working within the ECD Masterplanning and Design department.Manage and formulate the implementation of procedures in GIS Geodatabases, spatial mapping and viewing tools and appropriate Metadata to collect, manage, analyze, model, and present geographic or spatial data.Manage and develop the digital library of geographic maps in the appropriate file types.Integration of the ECD Master plan details into the GIS Geodatabase.Managing and co-ordinating GIS Software, Training and Storage for the department.Working with Consultants and Stakeholders to develop and monitor the programme/project GIS Strategy, GIS Management Plans and Standards.Development and management of GIS contractual terms and standards for the department.Development and implementation of GIS Technologies and training programmes where appropriate within the Masterplanning and Design department.Working with stakeholders to obtain relevant data exchange policies.Management, review and approval of project specific GIS PMP’s submitted by consultants and contractors where appropriate.People ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with other technical leaders within the organisation in managing and developing a full suite of GIS related tools and systems.Facilitate collaboration with all relevant stakeholders to improve decision making relating to GIS and associated modelling.Mentor and encourage the team about their working style, professional expertise and quality of project execution relating to BIM and 3D modelling.Ensure that all staff acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate learning and development programmes relating to BIM.Skills6+ years professional experience with 4 years in Geographic Information Systems (preferrable) as well as:BS degree in a Geographic Information Systems discipline or equivalent experience.Discipline specific professional registration preferred (PMP, PMI, ICE, RICS).Model Authoring, monitoring and reviewing BEP, MIDP and KPI documentation.Expertise in Navisworks, REVIT, AutoCAD AEC, Photoshop, Adobe Design, and Microsoft suite of products.Able to work on complex projects prone to change.Willingness to present to groups at all levels.Keen interest in design and the built environment.Good technical and artistic skillsExcellent attention to detailPrevious experience of successfully managing small teamsExcellent design, visualisation and graphic skills.High communicator; across, up and downHas proven experience of managing BIM on a programme.
