Fleet Maintenance Planner

Position OverviewIn conjunction with the Service Delivery Manager, develop and implement work plans which will deliver the required output in order to deliver depot output targets to the laid down technical, safety and quality standards, within the agreed budget to achieve the agreed availability and reliability standards. Roles and Responsibility• Development of initial maintenance plans based on the instructions provided by the vehicle manufacturer• Continually develop optimized maintenance plans based on operational experiences including accepted best practice from other entities engaging the manufacturers during warranty periods• Continually develop the maintenance plans for individual components based on operational experience and provided performance statistics to ensure an efficient use of resources• Prepare shunting plans and ensure resources allocated to deliver the shunting requirement against the plans.• Provide recommendations about location of work and method of working• Close cooperation and consulting with the other sub-division managers• Assist other Etihad Rail Freight Production functions/positions in engineering studies and advice• Optimally distribute the annual work load in close cooperation with the operation department• Design, determine and publish depot procedures and standards for all Etihad Rail Freight Production rolling stock.• Engage in a Continuous Improvement culture, fully engaging in the process of sharing best practice.• Measure the plans performance and ensure continuous improvement cycle in place for process optimization (Measure > Analyze > Improve > Control)• Produce detailed reports at a frequency and content directed by the Planning Manager. Desirable qualifications, skills and experienceAcademic Qualifications: • Diploma or High School Certificate Professional Qualifications:• Apprentice trained and/or relevant engineering qualifications• Full driving license Experience:• Rolling Stock Maintenance experience• Experience in writing maintenance and depot procedures• Proven ability to work under pressure Other Skills:• English as first language or advanced level of written and verbal skill• Analytical skills for problem solving• Multi skilled over a number of disciplines• Ability to train technicians and pass on experience and knowledge• Extensive knowledge in rolling stock maintenance• Excellent planning skills• Ability to work in a team and on an individual basis• Good communication skills• Good computer skills
