Together We deployed the first-ever nationwide ticketing system which processes over 50 million ticketing transactions in 100 cities daily.Thales has built a presence in Egypt for over 40 years and has today over 100 employees. Thales in Egypt is part of our Middle East business that has 1,800 people across Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, KSA, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and UAE.Together We delivered fare collection and control and communication systems for the first metro line in Africa, Metro Line 1 in Cairo. Since then we have continued to bring growth and security and safety to the country by upgrading these transportation systems as well as providing solutions for customers in air traffic management, air defence and Navy.Purpose Of Position:The Systems Administrator is a technical operational role responsible for administrating a complex and critical Automated Fare Collection System in Egypt. You will have a strong understanding of a complex system, and software applications. You must also be able to listen, understand and provide assistance for technical matters relating to Automated Fare collection systems. The Systems Administrator must be familiar with a complex computer IT, network solution, Web Orientated Solution. The System Administrator is responsible to maintain, upgrade and manage the Automated Dare Collection System in production. The System Administrator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of the Automated Fare collection application and computer systems IT. The Systems Administrator, works alongside the System Administrator Manager and the Head of Engineering. The Systems Administrator will be located at the Attaba Data Center in Cairo.Responsibilities:The Systems Administrator responsibilities are as follows, he/she must:Provide technical assistance on Automated Fare Collection System in operation;Solve problems in a persistent and systematic fashion, taking lead on defect analysis and be hands-on with troubleshooting exercisesMonitor the Automated Fare Collection System in production and manage bug tracking using tools such as TFSActs as the technical interface to support the deployment of a complex Automated Fare Collection System in productionInstall, configure, and maintain system hardware and softwareProvide technical support to operation and maintenance teamsDeploy and maintain security measuresPerform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlesslyStay up-to-date on the latest technology trendsKey communications in this position are: Regular communications with the operation teamRegular communication with the System Administrator Manager around maintenance and performance of the System AdministrationSpecial Requirements:Interstate and overseas travel may be required. Knowledge, Skills & Experience:5+ years of experience as a System AdministratorStrong understanding of Windows, operating systemsExperience with networking protocols and technologiesExperience with complex computing technologies like Hyper converged ITExperience with virtualization technologiesExperience with systems performance-monitoring toolsExperience in SQL database administrationExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work Independently and as part as a teamDesirable Experience:Experience on Oracle database.
