Job Description

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join the ML/AI Services delivery team at Mendel.ai in Egypt, Cairo. This team harnesses human input from a global team of clinical experts to improve the accuracy and relevancy of our clinical AI & LLM models. This role will be primarily responsible for driving continuous improvements in our LLM based models for extracting knowledge from structured and unstructured healthcare data to drive healthcare innovation.This role also involves monitoring and analyzing key performance metrics, performing ad hoc data requests for clinical operations, AI operations and product development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will improve product/AI quality, support optimization projects, and ensure data and AI model accuracy and performance.Responsibilities:Gain a thorough understanding of the various LLM models employed in the process of extracting knowledge from unstructured healthcare data.Assess current performance and areas of improvements against various customer and third party datasets.Work closely with the clinical data operations team in Egypt for human annotation and preparation of data for training the models.Generate detailed analytics to evaluate model performance improvements and/or regression.Review results with the broader AI team and plan subsequent iterations.Fulfill ad hoc data requests for clinical AI operations and product development.Monitor, develop, and analyze key performance metrics.Partner with internal teams to improve product/AI quality and support the optimization of reporting and analysis tools.Collaborate on projects involving data acquisition, data processing and integrations.Work closely with Engineering teams to drive improvements in our Data Platform and ML Platform tooling, processes and capabilities to accelerate ongoing continuous improvement cycles.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.6+ years of professional experience in business analytics and working with large data sets.Minimum 1 year hands on experience working with AI/ML models.Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.Skills in applied statistics, such as hypothesis testing, anomaly detection, clustering, and regression analysis.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik Sense, Looker).Proven ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects with attention to detail.Proficiency in creating and testing ETL pipelines and expertise in cleansing and integrating data from disparate sources.Big Data experience is a significant plusStrong analytical skills to analyze complex business and AI data.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience training or fine tuning Large Language Models.Expertise using ML Flow and/or Kubeflow.At Mendel, we believe in technology's transformative potential.
