Job Description

Summary


NEOM Hydrogen Team is developing strategies and technologies for green hydrogen production, production of e-fuels, utilization of green fuels and, other circular carbon economy technologies. The applicant will work within the Technology and Innovation team to develop and demonstrate technologies related to hydrogen production via water electrolysis.  The candidate will focus on the supply chain ecosystem related directly on materials and key components of electrolyzers. There is an immediate focus on finding and developing opportunities for localization of the supply chain within the Kingdom. The candidate will also be involved in projects that implies the use of electrolyzer technologies.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies to identify, qualify, and negotiate with potential suppliers of materials and key components for electrolyzer production, in addition to the equipment required to produce hydrogen at scale.
  • Manage relationships with existing and potential suppliers, fostering strong partnerships that ensure consistent quality, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, managing negotiations, and monitoring supplier performance against agreed-upon terms.
  • Collaborate with all internal stakeholders, such as engineering, manufacturing, and quality control teams, to ensure procured materials and components meet technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize waste, and maintain minimum stock levels.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions in the supply chain and ensure security of supply, such as material shortages, price fluctuations or geopolitical events.
  • Manage and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical sourcing practices throughout the supply chain.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends in electrolyser technology and the broader supply chain landscape, identifying and implementing innovative solutions to improve efficiency and sustainability.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability strategies for the electrolyser supply chain, minimizing environmental impact and promoting responsible sourcing practices.
  • Experience of using ESP systems

Knowledge and Experience


Role specific requirements


  • Must have strong understanding of the Far East Asian electrolyzer industry and supply chain dynamics, specifically China
  • Experience with electrolyzer technologies, including alkaline, polymer electrolyte membrane, anion exchange membrane, and or solid oxide systems
  • Experience with development and manufacturing of electrolyzer cells and stacks

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in managing supply chain operations, preferably in the clean energy or electrochemistry sector
  • Is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
