Guided by our values of integrity, respect, accountability and excellence, we use leading science and technology to more fiber-based packaging forward.Career OpportunityThe Vibration Technician performs various preventative, predictive and maintenance procedures including predictive analysis (vibration, IR, etc.), troubleshooting, preventative rounds, some mechanical work and other tasks as needed. The technician is expected to follow plant safety procedures such as Lockout/Tagout and perform pre-task checklists. Typically, a day shift position, overtime may be required to complete assigned tasks, perform work on extended machine outages, call-ins after hours or other overtime requirements that may arise.The position reports to the Maintenance Reliability Manager but at times may be reporting to the Maintenance Manager, Production Superintendent, Production Supervisor or General Manager depending on who is present during the time.How You Will Impact WestRockParticipates in the safety program for the maintenance department and works to exceed all safety standards and requirements mandated by the plant and OSHAUnderstand and be able to troubleshoot lubrication and vibration issuesPerform preventative maintenance vibration checks on equipment through daily and assigned rounds/dutiesAttend training onsite and offsite to keep vibration certifications up to dateAssist in failure analysis to improve work and equipment performanceMaintain clean work area and perform housekeeping as required.Willing to train other vibration technicians with knowledge learned from experience and trainingOther Duties as assignedWhat You Need To SucceedWilling to achieve the following certification requirements.(Vibration) ISO Category I/ (Lubrication) MLT1 within 1 year of hire dateISO Category II within 2 years of hire dateISO Category III within 5 years of hire dateFamiliar with test equipment i.e. meters, calipers, etc.Educational background including associate degree, trade school or apprenticeship in maintenance highly considered. Extensive experience in lieu of education also recognized.Basic computer skillsPreferred QualificationsMillwright experience of 2+ years preferred.CAT I or above vibration certificationDocumented history of at least 2 years in an industrial reliability technician role5 years maintenance experience, preferably in a heavy industrial settingLevel II or above vibration certificationExperience in Emerson Vibration equipment is a plusExcellent problem-solving abilityJDE, SAP or other manufacturing work system computer experienceAble to use Microsoft Word and Excel for reports and communicationKnowledge of paper mill processes and equipment is a plusPhysical requirements: Heights, confined space, ability to lift 51 lbs. and carry up to 50 lbs.Detail oriented and able to work with minimum supervisionLevel I Infrared certification is a plusWestRock is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
