OverviewG42 Healthcare is an Abu Dhabi based health technology company active across data and AI, digital health, advanced OMICS, pharma, diagnostics and environmental sciences.G42 Healthcare has recently merged with the healthcare arm of the Abu Dhabi Sovereign Fund Mubadala (Mubadala Health) creating a unique organisation with over 7,000 staff spanning omics, technology and healthcare provision.G42 Healthcare is also the facilitator of the 1 million Emirati Genome Program, operating an NGS facility that can deliver over 500,000 whole genome sequences per annum. We have recently launched a regional partnership with Somalogic, establishing the first high-throughput proteomics facility in the Middle East, and also own the local Health Information Exchange called Mallafi.This position should assure safety of procedures and products this extends to testing and storage of cord blood units and finally compliance with all regulations and accreditation standards. organizing and maintaining donor records and conducting routine communication activities with collection facilities, regional and laboratory staff as well as with cord blood registries.ResponsibilitiesThe Laboratory Manager shall have responsibility of assuring safety of procedures and products.Lead and Supervise daily duties of the processing and cryogenic labs.Observing all labelling of received and processed CBUPerforming monthly lab statisticsMaintaining PPM for all equipmentMaintaining and reviewing all equipment file.Reviewing monthly laboratory inventory.Reviewing all new equipment technical specification.Reviewing all raised IPRs for supplies.Performing supplier evaluation.Performing validation for all laboratory equipment.Maintaining laboratory staff employee files and competency assessment for each staff.Performing monthly duty rota.Maintaining equipment calibration for the laboratory.Preparing laboratory documents as SOPs/ Forming/ Policies.Check and administer all incoming cord blood units and maternal blood samples received from the cord blood collection centers.Check and administer all incoming cord blood units and maternal blood samples received from the cord blood collection centers.Communicate with the collection centers regarding shipping, transport and delivery of cord blood units, blood samples and associated documentation.Using current techniques and standards:Reduce volume of cord blood units by depletion of red cells and plasma.Prepare cord blood units for freezing (addition of cryoprotectant, transfer to freezing bags).Cryopreserve cord blood units by controlled rate freezing.Store cord blood units under appropriate conditions.Administer and file all incoming test results.Communicate with testing laboratories, initiate enquiries and follow up incomplete results.To recognize abnormal or unusual test results and follow instruction procedures for reporting critical values (Call Back).Supervise and training of new personnel.The Laboratory Manager must assure on yearly basis a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education in any of the following disciplines:Donor safety.CB banking.Cellular therapy product collection, processing and administration.Donor selection.Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.Transfusion and blood banking.QualificationsMinimum 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters’ and Bachelor's, OR 10 years of relevant experience without a degree.Experience with Microsoft Office and office management Ability to provide leadership and direction to other team members.Ability to convert abstract ideas into concrete solutions, and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers.Ability to take on tasks related to the safe handling, documentation and manufacturing of cord blood products and training.Ability to carrying out cord blood policies and procedures for filing, organizing and maintaining donor records.Ability to conduct routine communication activities with collection facilities, regional and laboratory staff as well as with cord blood registriesAbility to communicate in both English and Arabic (verbal and written)Ability to maintain current knowledge of Cellular Therapy and Cord Blood regulations and standards - AABB, FACT, FDA, NMDP, etc.Ability to supervise, train, and review training and competency assessment.Ability in writing Cord Blood & CT validation plans, ensure validation procedures are performed as appropriate and write validation performance summaries.Ability to carry out HLA typing by Next generation sequencer NGS High resolutionAbility to conduct Flow cytometry for CD34 counts (Enumeration)
