Job Description
The following deliverables will be allocated over the contract duration in the following order
A report on the current state of patient-led advocacy for hypertension, including determinants of successful efforts.
A 2–3-page policy brief outlining the most impactful approaches to patient-led advocacy for hypertension control, augmented with country exemplars.
A patient-led advocacy strategy for the RTSL hypertension team that considers national and regional peculiarities, including KPIs.
A toolkit for partner engagement in patient-led advocacy, including but not limited to capacity assessment tools.
In-country patient-led advocacy projects started in 1-2 countries.
Contract Management
The Independent Contractor will submit all deliverables to the Principal Advisor, Hypertension Control Policy, who will manage this contract and monitor progress towards deliverables.
Qualifications
Education
A master’s degree in public health, public policy, communications, or a related field
Experience
At least 10 years of relevant experience working in global public health, preferably in LMICs
Experience leading civil society organization capacity building , including capacity assessments
Proven track record of leading health-related advocacy work, leveraging or incorporating a human rights approach
Extensive experience in coalition building, developing a civil society engagement agenda, and resource mobilization plans
Experience developing and implementing access to care advocacy campaigns
Experience conducting desk reviews, landscape analyses, and partner/stakeholder mapping
Skills & Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong analytical and research skills
Ability to communicate technical knowledge and expertise in both policy and operational environments
High degree of initiative, adaptability, problem-solving skills, and creativity
Time-management skills with the ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
