About The Role

Main responsibility of Vendor Manager is to manage vendor activities and maintain both new and existing vendor long-term relationships, Work on identifying suitable vendors, negotiate with vendors to secure the best prices for products and services, and ensure that vendors fulfill their contractual obligations.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality.
  • Establish standards and guidelines for vendors, monitoring vendors to ensure these policies are being followed.
  • Troubleshoot all vendor problems and present to management as required.
  • Help and coordinate vendor processes and methods to approve vendors.
  • Coordinate all vendor management tasks inclusive of working with external vendors and internal employees.
  • Identify and implement continuously enhance efficiencies associated with vendor management plus produce fulfillment.
  • Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors.
  • Vendor managers conduct interviews and meetings with new vendors.
  • Meeting with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns.
  • Support to explore expansion across new business lines.
  • Vendor managers monitor sales trends, noting which items are selling faster than others, and write reports displaying this data
  • Responsible for reducing out of stocks according to inventory level
  • Putting and identifying standards to evaluate the performance of approved vendors

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • +3 years of experience withing FMCG retail space.
  • MBA or any related certificate will be a great plus.
  • Excellent business judgment with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • High threshold for working in an ambiguous, fast pacing environment.
  • Excellent managing vendor service level and support agreements
  • Strong methodical, detailed, and quality approach
  • Capable of leading and motivating teams and teaching/mentoring team members
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
