Job Description
Supports research and/or training by providing daily animal care. Animal care includes routine animal feeding, watering, cage changing and sanitation procedures, as well as basic animals health and environmental monitoring tasks as per established policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Provides laboratory animals feeding, watering and room sanitation as per established husbandry practices.

2. Provides technical assistance in collecting samples/specimens, animal treatment, and euthanasia as needed under the supervision of the department’s veterinarians.

3. Maintains detailed records on animals breeding, daily husbandry activities and facility environment in the animal rooms and support areas.

4. Observes animals on a daily basis to assess health, environmental conditions, and social environment.

5. Assists in cages decontamination, washing, sterilization and preparing clean/sterile microenviroment.
?
6. Follows all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
?
7. Assist in receives and verifies animals’ shipments against purchase orders.
?
8. Follows all Hospital related Policies and Procedures.
?
9. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
?
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
Associate Degree/Diploma in Science, AALAS LAT Certificate or scientific discipline relevant to the research field or High School is required.
Experience Required
No experience with Associate /Diploma or AALAS LAT Certificate, or two (2) years of KFSHRC experience in any field with High School, or two (2) years of related experience with High School is required.
