Job Description

1. Mission/ Core purpose of the Job


The Consultant will develop the wholesale carrier services product roadmap, which includes international carrier solutions and manage the wholesale carrier services product portfolio and catalogue. The role will be responsible to develop new carrier services products, including managing the product definition and delivery cycle, pricing and technical and commercial specification definitions aligned to market trends and commercial requirements from sales and commercial support team. The role will monitor the product implementation, launch and OFAB processes. The Consultant will liaise with the wholesale connectivity product, FibreCo, CoE and GEBU product teams to develop a unified wholesale and enterprise approach for international carrier products.


2. Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)


The Consultant Product Management Carrier Services role will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:


  • Support the development and management of the global carrier roadmap and product plans, working into the wider Unified Communication and Connectivity Portfolio to build a single connected platform between wholesale and Enterprise
  • Drive the development and management of NaaS, FibreCo, IP Transit, and Intelligent Routing product offerings
  • Create and manage the carrier services product catalogue, including specification and pricing for new products
  • Collaborate with OpCo’s to understand key needs and requirements from a carrier service perspective and incorporate them into the Bayobab product catalogue and plan
  • Build and manage business cases for product implementation, adequately approximating CAPEX and OPEX impact and monitoring business case performance once product launched
  • End to end ownership of product implementation – project managing covering multiple teams including technical and sales, and ensuring operational procedures are defined
  • Responsible for pricing; based on voice and data demand analytics, and intelligence of competitive carrier services pricing
  • Responsible for carrier services profitability and management of product economics for this line of business
  • Define and maintain a customer experience plan and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure the processes are defined to accommodate for fault handling and resolution, as well as fraud detection/prevention/response
  • Provide stakeholders with updated high-quality product collateral, target prices and discount matrices across routes and accounts
  • Track, and manage the product commercial and service performance, recommend and deliver on continuous improvements (revenue uplift and cost reduction), including product upgrades and changes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide sales, operational, competitor, market and product insights

3. Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)


Education:


  • Minimum 4-year Academic Degree (BBA, Engineering /Computer Science) 
  • Post graduate qualification MBA/Masters (Economics, Engineering /Computer Science) preferred 
  • English, French and Arabic (as advantage)

Experience:


  • 5+ years relevant commercial experience in the fixed line international telecommunication industry preferably in enterprise/carrier product business 
  • 2+ years of relevant product experience
