Job Description
- Build the health and safety culture in Egypt & Lebanon
- Implement all HSE policies of the company, local legislation & regulations, other local and international statutory codes of practice and standards
- Develop the Safety Management System, monitor and audit its effectiveness and report any issues to top management
- Improve and modify Safety Management System to protect the organization against litigation and prosecution
- Ensure the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation and follow any recent developments
- Create country-wide resource basis for legal advice on all H&S and Environmental matters
- Act as the prime contact to the HSE authorities and maintain and foster good relations with them
- Develop Programs and coach regional trainers for Preventive Programs
- Communicate frequently HSE performance to the upper management
- Cooperate with regional purchasing team to identify opportunities for cost savings related to HSE matters
- Organize and implement Standardized personal protective program in order to ensure correct standard personal protective equipment is provided at an acceptable cost
- Responsible for risk assessment, hazard analysis and recommend solutions to issues that need improvement
- Responsible for all safety inspections in the workplace
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in environmental health and safety or such related field
- 6 – 8 years of relevant solid experience
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification
- Knowledge of international standards like ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001
- Knowledge of relevant HSE principles including knowledge of regulatory agency, client and subcontractor HSE requirements
- Fluent in English language is a Must
- A very strong and confident personality with excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to take initiatives and provide and implement strategic plans
