Title: Interior Architecture & Design Assistant Lecturer

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Lecturer to join our esteemed team in the Interior Architecture and Design (IAD) department at Coventry University. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for early career academics to gain valuable experience in teaching, learning, and assessment practices within a vibrant and supportive academic environment.
- Deliver academic support services to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as other client groups of the school, under the supervision of a senior academic member of staff.
- Conduct seminars, tutorials, workshops, computer laboratory classes, or other small group learning activities based on established curriculum.
- Mark and moderate assignments, exam scripts, and other assessment materials to pre-set requirements.
- Seek ways to enhance students' learning experience by reviewing effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.
- Lead/support small special project areas, such as managing the School’s social media and web presence, student field trips, and guest lectures.
- Provide guidance and support to students, ensuring proper maintenance of student records.
- Contribute to academic tutoring and the development and delivery of consultancy projects, professional learning and development programmes, and knowledge exchange events.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and Equal Opportunities policy.
Job Requirements
- A passion for teaching and supporting students in the field of Interior Architecture and Design.
- Relevant academic qualifications in Interior Architecture and Design or related disciplines.
- Experience or interest in software teaching, model making, fabrication skills, and VR & AR technologies.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and under the supervision of senior academic staff.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, including pursuing a Postgraduate qualification.
