Job Description

AL Bedeir Construction is actively seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager is responsible for the daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of medium to large construction projects, to meet time and cost objectives with respect to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding and contract administration.

Project description:

The candidate will work on the first intelligent admin building in New Capital. The project concludes an amazing learning experience to use frontier technology in the field of construction and electromechanical infrastructure. The project is due to delivery within 2 years, therefore the candidate is expected to engage in the end-to-end project cycle up until final delivery.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Planning project time schedule, budget and resources needed
  • Developing the project method of statement and work plan
  • Manages all assigned tasks & projects safely with integrity, honesty and fairness
  • Responsible for establishing a positive and effective relationship with key contacts to develop or expand the company’s business and to ensure the delivery of quality workmanship and excellence in customer service
  • Manage and ensure Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Subcontractors, Construction Managers, and administrative staff supporting the project are completely fulfilling all aspects of their responsibilities pertaining to assigned projects
  • Supervise and manage all contract requirements including, but not limited to, RFI’s, submittals, application for payments, schedules, budgets, notifications, reports, etc
  • Update Senior Management regularly on the overall project, financial status, schedule status and perceived level of satisfaction
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (payment applications, budget, fee payment, change orders, rental equipment, invoices, income /expenses, etc.) to protect company’s interests while maintaining a good relationship with vendors
  • Identification and solicitation of potentially new subcontractors and design firms
  • Drive cost savings and value engineering to reduce overall project cost by negotiating and coordinating the most efficient use of in-house labor resources, equipment, and materials
  • Provide documentation of construction progress including, but not limited to shop drawings, manpower, project forecast, schedules, delays, changes, and vendor payments
  • Supervise construction sites and direct project superintendents and subcontractors to make sure standards of building performance, quality, cost schedules and safety are maintained
  • Provide coordination of onsite and off-site activities for personnel and vendors including publication and distribution of project schedules, coordination and sequencing of work activities and material flows and coordination with customer’s and other vendors as related to scopes and responsibilities
  • Approve payment to subcontractors by the valuation of completed work
  • Ensure that building regulations, standards and by-laws are enforced in building operations
  • Ensure project documentation and processes are strictly maintained
  • Identify problems and/or risk issues; then recommend and implement solutions

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in engineering (Architecture)
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting or contracting office in Egypt or MENA/GCC
  • Resume must demonstrate extensive Project Management experience and people management skills
  • Experience in commercial projects is a must
  • Mastering Microsoft Office and different drawing tools
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • A demonstrated commitment to exceeding expectations in the delivery of safe, quality, cost-efficient and timely service
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, risk measure & assignment, ability to face challenging situations viewed from a variety of different angles; assess the strength of options, select and implement the best solutions
  • Ability to think on your feet, making effective decisions on a timely basis, sometimes with limited information
  • Ability to work under pressure
