Job Description

Position Description

  • The Outside Sales Manager is responsible for marketing Superior Group products and services to existing and new customers. The primary focus is developing and executing plans and strategies to grow sales to new customers and secondarily to increase sales to existing customers. The key responsibility the Outside Sales Manager is finding and closing profitable sales with new customers that develop into long-term relationships.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly understand Superior’s business and capabilities to deliver products and services including current products and capabilities to develop new products.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute sales strategies established with the Superior Executive Team.
  • Develop new customers and expand existing customers to meet sales revenue targets established with the Superior Executive Team.
  • Spend significant time in the field calling on potential new customers building rapport and securing sales orders for new products and expansions with existing customers.
  • Work closely with Superior Product Managers to develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers with involvement as appropriate on production needs.
  • Develop yearly, monthly, and weekly sales and marketing action plans aligned with the overall the sales strategy.
  • Present weekly written progress reports to the Superior Executive team showing progress against established plans, goals, and targets.
  • Provide monthly sales forecasts on a rolling twelve month basis to the Superior Executive team.
  • As sales volume grows and business needs dictate, recommend additions to the sales team to support further sales expansion.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superior Executive team.

Job Requirements

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering is a must
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience (5 years preferred) with outside sales for oil & gas sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry and the needs of valves.
  • Excellent reading, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Committed to teamwork and team success both internally and with customers.
  • Self-starter with the ability to set and achieve sales goals based on business needs driving to high-level targets with minimal direct supervision and guidance.
  • Demonstrated effective time-management, self-motivation, and self-discipline in prior positions.
  • Strong customer service mindset demonstrated through past experience and positions dealing with customers in a sales and service context.
  • Demonstrated ability to open new accounts, present solutions, close orders, and retain accounts.
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated commitment to character, integrity and ethics in all dealings.
  • Experienced and skilled in using personal computer software for email, spreadsheets, and presentations; specifically, Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Very good command in English language verbal, reading and writing.

Other Requirements

  • Four-year degree, BA/BS preferred, relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Position is full-time exempt salaried with the expectation of a minimum of 45 hours per week (from Sunday to Thursday)

Experience:

  • Outside Sales: 3-5 years (Required)
  • Oil & Gas Industry: 3-5 years (Preferred)
