Job Description
Job-specific responsibilities:
- Manage ORACLE and SQL Server DBs through multiple life-cycle environments - Dev, QA, Staging and Production.
- Help define and implement DB High Availability strategies including DB Clustering and Always On availability groups.
- Troubleshooting DB server service outages as they occur, including after-hours/weekend support.
- Implement, deliver and test backups in a way which meets key Recovery Point Objectives.
- Install and configure new DB servers from scratch.
- Develop and maintain capacity and performance metrics to track overall infrastructure trends.
- Establish and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLA) with internal and external customers and ensure the SLA standards are maintained
- Prepare and present status and technical reports as required.
- Ensure stable and reliable Operation for internal operation
- Day-to-day performance monitoring.
- Troubleshooting and fault analysis and repair.
- Trouble ticket generation, response and escalations.
- Standard changes implementation via our change control systems and processes.
Job Requirements
Specialization:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in information technology, computer science or related field.
- Knowledge and experience within ORACLE AND SQL SERVER Database Management.
- ITIL Foundation, ITIL Operation and ITIL Transition certificates are a plus
- Should have strong experience in ORACLE SQL Server, MySQL.
- Prior working experience in big enterprise-level projects.
- Experience in Query optimizations or performance tuning.
- Troubleshooting SQL Server & MYSQL issues
- Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and the creation of stored procedures.
- Participate in a 24x7 call-out rotation.
- Ticket and standard changes response for customer with a valid support contract
- Good knowledge of security as it relates to cloud-based infrastructure
- Able to gather relevant information systematically to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
- Good attention to detail, testing and documentation
- Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices
- Strong oral and written communication skill.
