Job Description
Union Coop is a leading retailer in UAE with several hypermarkets, stores, malls, and e-Commerce channels.
We are looking for Experienced Magento 2 Developers with strong front end experience to lead and/or assist in the architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of Union Coop's Magento 2 eCommerce channel, especially during the upgrade from M1 to M2.
This is a full-time position based at Union Coop's Research & Development CoE in Egypt.
Job Responsibilities:
Development:
- Setup and configure Magento 1.X or Magento 2.X sites
- Custom Magento extension development
- Custom Magento theme development
- Follow agile methodologies and practices around analysis, design, and development
- Work in a team environment creating and supporting enterprise-grade applications
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using Magento 2 development best practices
- Code and deploy solutions suitable to a cross-platform, cross-browser environment
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
- Gather, create and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Assist in optimizing our site for loading speed, usability, and uptime
- Create and maintain software documentation
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling the platform
- Stay on top of emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them to operations and activities
- Cooperate with UX/UI designer and front-end developer to match visual design intent
Data Testing and Tracking:
- Create unit-tests to ensure that code meets its design requirements and behaves as intended
- Optimize and enhance web applications with tens of millions of page requests while maintaining high-performance requirements
- Write thorough, comprehensive technical, and high-level documentation
Job Requirements
- Extensive technical experience in Magento 2.
- Possess comprehensive functional knowledge of Magento.
- Total: 3-8 Years of experience, with Minimum 3 Years with Magento.
- Magento 2.x Certification is preferred
- Extensive experience of PHP and MySQL.
- Exposure on CMS, Code Ignitor as well as Javascript frameworks such as jQuery.
- Experience in the Retail Industry would be preferred.
- Demonstrable knowledge of XML, XHTML, CSS, Modules i.e. API integration, Payment Gateways, XML with a focus on standards.
- Analyze, design, code, debug, test, document & deploy applications.
