Job Description

Purpose of Assignment:

  • As an integral part of its mission, AMIDEAST/ Egypt has been involved in building the capacity of Egyptian teachers for almost 60 years. AMIDEAST is implementing a new teacher training initiative aiming at enhancing both teaching and leadership skills for female teachers working for the Egyptian Ministry of Education (MOE). The initiative is funded by an international donor, under the auspices of the MOE and implemented by AMIDEAST/ Egypt.
  • AMIDEAST/ Egypt is seeking the services of an experienced curriculum developer to develop the required training materials for the intended program.

 

Job Description:

  • The curriculum developer works in conjunction with the EL Manager to create various types of authentic training material that meet the program objectives and deliverables.  
  • The developer is responsible for selecting instructional methods, identifying time frames and preparing training material for both face-to-face and virtual sessions.  
  • The training developer will have 60 hours divided into 10 days with 6 hours per day to complete the material that has not been used or reproduced for any other program.

Deliverables:

  • Developing the following training materials:
  • Manual for Trainers
  • Manual for Trainees
  • Classroom Power Point Presentation
  • Module outlines
  • Supporting documents
  • Training materials should address general teaching methodology, leadership skills, game-based training, interactive student-based concepts, and training of trainers.
  • Training materials should suit teachers from all disciplines including Physical Education.
  • Training materials are to be in Arabic with the technical terminology only in English.
  • The developed training materials will become AMIDEAST property.
  • Any external movie / case study / or authentic material must have on file the copy right approval related to it.
  • Consultant must produce authentic materials; plagiarism will result in severe repercussions

Job Requirements

Education:

  • MA degree in Education, curriculum development, teaching methodology, or a relevant field
  • Ph.D. in Education is preferable

Experience:

  • Previous experience developing teacher training material is to be displayed in a portfolio showcasing developed training material
  • Log of curriculum development material recorded with client references and/or certificates

Skills:

  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office, programs required but not limited to:
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Excel
