Job Description

Senior Training Material Development Specialist

USAID funded Teach for Tomorrow (T4T) Project

  • Keys to Effective Learning is a training and educational services company dedicated to meeting the learning needs of our clients. We initiate and promote best practices in learning by identifying learning needs, customizing design and delivery, and creating practical, appropriate solutions for clients within the education and business sectors.
  • Keys to Effective Learning in partnership with Education Development Center (EDC) are currently implementing the USAID funded project “Teach for Tomorrow” that supports the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MOETE) in strengthening systems related to two key areas – 1) the design and adoption of effective Continuous Teacher Professional Development (CTPD) and 2) Professional Teacher Licensing/Certification and Promotion. USAID Teach for Tomorrow will support MOETE in designing and developing an innovative blended learning system for teacher professional development that will assist teachers to infuse critical thinking, inquiry, and problem solving into their instructional practices based on developed standards for teachers.
  • Keys to Effective Learning is currently looking for a Senior Training Material Development Specialist expecting that he/she will be responsible for all the training material design and development.
  • Job Description
  • The Senior Training Material Development Specialist will work in collaboration with the project team and in coordination with the MOETE team to;
  • Build the capacity of the MOETE team to design and develop high-quality training material and validated training packages/courses for primary education teachers, mentors/coaches, supervisors, and school
  • Design and develop training material packages/courses for primary education teachers, mentors/coaches, supervisors, and school leaders that are in alignment with the MOETE’s teacher training framework and support the attainment of the learning outcomes of the newly reformed education system.
  • identify opportunities for distance learning to support teacher development, particularly in difficult-to-reach areas and areas with small and mobile populations, use of video and digital resources including resources on the EKB- for teacher’s self -study and to share models of intended practice and integration into classroom instruction.
  • create instructional design to convert face to face training material to online and develop digital learning materials to be used for distant training and in teaching.
  • Coach and mentor TMDS and CBS to ensure highest quality and standards for manuals produced and TOT delivery
  • Prepare TOT material and deliver TOT as needed
  • Develop Training Monitoring and Evaluation Tools to effectively monitor delivery of the training, build MOETE capacity to use the tools and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain schedule for training material development and provide updates as needed.
  • Prepare summary report for the training material development activities and provide inputs to the quarterly report, annual report, and final report.
  • Follow Key’s procedures for requesting material, TOT resources and translation ahead of time before events
  • Hold her/himself accountable to Key’s Code of Professional Ethics and Conduct and ensure the TMDS and CBS are aligning to it as well.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education or related field.
  • Minimum eight years of experience in the field of training material development, instructional design, and capacity building.
  • Five years of experience in designing and developing training material for Master Trainers, Teachers, Supervisors, and School Principal.
  • Three years of experience with instructional design for both face to face and online courses with good creativity.
  • Experience using the Experiential Learning Model and how to use the Model in developing training material.
  • Three years of experience conducting effective and standardized TOT to build capacity for Master Trainers Cadre to effectively deliver TOT to Master Trainers as per the Training Manuals
  • Proven experience in coaching/mentoring staff
  • Arabic and English language skills, excellent writing skills for clarity and consistency.
  • Advanced computer skills 
  • High ability to work in collaboration with team to produce quality work as per SoW
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate ideas and thoughts, work under pressure, maintaining a professional and respectful working relationship with colleagues.
