About the Job
As a Technical Writer working on development team products, you might support some of the world's most popular developer platforms, including APIs for SAP, Oracle, Customized Apps and Mobile Application Platforms and portals.
You will encourage the best development practices by writing SDK documentation, API references and integration documents.
Responsibilities:
- Write technical documentation for internal or external developer audiences, such as API Reference docs and developer guides.
- Communicate with business users to write integration documents
- Design and organize documentation sets for new APIs and developer products.
- Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills.
- Manage complex documentation projects.
- Supplement developer documentation with relevant sample code.
- Understand how our customers use the product
- Help define, organize, and make changes to the content
- Collaborate with development teams to create, update, and maintain product documentation
- Design and manage documentation projects targeted to external developers
- Work with customers and product management to help define new product capabilities
- Simplify complex information in well-organized document.
- Creative writing documents and talented in showing ideas graphically.
- Use graphics programs to capture, size, and import screenshots and graphics into documentation.
- Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s computer science, technical writing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experiences, such as technical writing, product documentation, or online publishing including experience with writing technical customer-facing materials.
- Excellent documentation for developers (APIs, SDKs, Mobile and web technologies).
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software
- Proficiency with HTML and CSS.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- PDF creation and Microsoft Office Skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Experience in technical writing or documentation management
- Ability to understand new technology concepts quickly and apply them accurately through an evolving, dynamic environment
