Job Description

Job Overview

  • This role is responsible for the overall quality control aspects of products and processes. It’s the key leadership role that is responsible for leading the development and improving the quality management system and sustaining it.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop, document, deploy, maintain, and improve a quality management system (QMS) inclusive of policies, procedures, processes, and practices for the company’s manufacturing site.
  • Maintain compliance with Corporate Quality Assurance Policies and customer quality satisfaction through the implementation and use of programs to control raw materials, in-process materials, production process, environmental conditions, and finished products.
  • Lead problem solving and provide risk management guidance for manufacturing issues, customer quality issues, defective raw material and finished product determination and disposition.
  • Enforce policies and procedures for inspection of various manufactured and purchased products.
  • Analyze/evaluate manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the Quality Engineers who ensure shop floor level conformity of all product lines within the manufacturing or the assembly production lines.
  • Track, analyze, and lead initiatives for all quality and customer complaint issues within the plant.
  • Support, facilitate, and assist in the implementation of the facility's Lean initiatives.
  • Responsible for the approval of new suppliers via supplier quality audits and the periodic auditing of existing suppliers in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Perform evaluations and creates development/training plans for individuals within the team and manage employee relations.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science or related technical field.
  • +10 years in related Quality Assurance and control experiences in the manufacturing industry, specifically in Plastics, with minimum of 5 years leading a quality team. 
  • Certifications in Lean, TQM, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
  • Master’s Degree in Total Quality Management is highly preferable.

Skills: 

  • Knowledge of ISO requirements and audits.
  • Knowledge of FDA standards
  • Excellent user of SAP system.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and manage to/achieve metrics.
  • Self-directed and results focused. Strong sense of urgency and ownership of resolution. 
  • Strong written and verbal communicator.
  • Fluent in English.
