Job Description

Operations Management

  • Provide leadership and management to an engineering and contracting company’s operations arm that mirrors the adopted mission and core values within.
  • Drive the company to achieve and surpass; revenue, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
  • Measure and make effective all processes internal and external. Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company to the COO.
  • Spearhead the communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance project management team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the operations team not currently in place; provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program. 
  • Act as lead "client-care officer" through direct contact with every client and partner.
  • Foster a goal-oriented environment as well as accountability within the operations.

Project Management

  • Complete a 360-project management maturity review for the current portfolio highlighting areas of development such as but not limited to capability, process, governance and structural gaps
  • Formulate and implement an action plan to address identified development areas to raise project management maturity level to an aspired best in class level
  • Enhance accountability and transparency on the project as well as the operating sector level, delegating and monitoring ownership of project profitability and sound budget management whilst meeting project delivery schedules
  • Streamline project operation responsibilities and communication between site locations and corporate functions
  • Adopt digital tools and ERP utilization in operations management
  • Enhance subcontractor management capabilities across portfolio in different sectors; Marine, Infrastructure & utilities, Bridges
  • Enhance reporting structure and process to communicate operational updates clearly and periodically to the COO and executive team
  • Build optimization systems to minimize operational waste across operations for high spend items such as steel
  • Enhance facility standards and work environment quality across locations

Equipment

  • Ensure solid documentation and tracking process across the company’s equipment fleet
  • Review and optimize the company’s fleet, recommending investment decisions for equipment fleet between purchasing, renting, and overhauling equipment
  • Enhance steel workshop operations and the company’s equipment repair workshop management capabilities
  • Ensure maintenance plans and budgets are met, justifying and resolving any variances against plan, whilst fulfilling operational needs
  • Define criteria of selection, purchase and rental for all equipment and tool needs to ensure streamlined operations

Inventory and Warehouses

  • Build and maintain a capable team for running inventory operations
  • Ensure proper standard operating procedures and reporting outputs are generated to serve operations as well as other core functions in the organization such as Project controls, finance and procurement
  • Clear management process of asset-classified inventory to maintain and advise on purchase and rental needs
  • Team management and coordination for periodic reports generation across sites and central locations

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction/Civil Engineering or related field required
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Construction Management, or other relevant area required
  • 15+ years of experience in Construction Operations, and at least 7 years holding a senior role in Construction Management, Project Management, or consulting
  • Ability to create and maintain business relationships
  • Strong data, analytics, technology experience, and ability to lead an operational construction and technical reporting teams
  • Superior communication and analytical skills coupled with exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Track record of impactful experience in previous organizations
